Meet the Director

Ekta Choudhary

Centre Director

My name is Ekta Choudhary. I feel extremely excited to join the HEI team as a Centre Director and looking forward to meet all the amazing children, staff and families.

I decent from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. I moved to Australia nearly 7 years ago to study my Masters. I lived in Sydney, Geelong, Tasmania and moved back to Geelong to settle in 2022.

I have a diploma in Early childhood and in Leadership and Management. I also have a Bachelors of Science, Bachelor of Education and Master of English Literature, Master of Business Administration and Master of Professional Accounting. I have been in working in education sector since 2014. I have a beautiful family which includes my supportive husband and two wonderful children, a 3.5 years old daughter and a 19 month old son. I’m a very hands-on mum.

My teaching philosophy is influenced greatly by Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligence, where we realise that every child is born intelligent with any of the 8 types of intelligences (linguistic, logical/mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, inter-personal, intra-personal and naturalist) and it’s the responsibility of an educator to help identify, acknowledge and support every child to realise their full potential using spontaneous and planned experiences around that area of intelligence to make them confident and involved learners.

My core strength is that I am very compassionate, caring and inclusive person and will consider every possibility to make my team, children and families happy and supported. HEI Waurn Ponds is a wonderfully supported team, where the aim is to connect with the community, communicate effectively with each other and give consideration to every action we perform, to build a beautiful journey for children, staff and families.
